Invest in Nature

Remove Carbon. Invest in Nature. Create Positive Social Impact.

1MT Nation is a high-quality nature-based carbon removal project developer in Africa on a mission to restore 1 million hectares of degraded land by 2030 and combat climate change. We plant polyculture native and naturalized bamboo on lands without forest cover for at least the past ten years in collaboration with local landowners.

Bamboo is one of the most effective nature-based tools in the fight against climate change, an efficient carbon
sequester with 35% more oxygen production than an average tree, capturing and storing large amounts of
carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Planting bamboo on degraded lands helps restore the ecological balance,
conserves and increases biodiversity, removes CO2 pollution from the atmosphere, supports local communities, and creates high-quality nature-based carbon credits. Our projects create thousands of jobs, a sustainable future for local communities, and fair pay and extra income for local landowners.

We contribute directly to eight Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and donate a remarkable proportion of
the carbon credit revenue to the Foundation, which provides local African communities access to clean water,
solar energy, primary education, sustainable agriculture practices, and security for crops and villagers.

In 2023 we have already successfully started to restore lands in Uganda. As land preparations in this phase are
capital heavy, we invite you to invest in nature and act now!

High-quality and nature-based carbon removal projects

We deliver high-quality and nature-based carbon credits that make a meaningful contribution to protecting and restoring the environment. Our nature-based carbon offsetting projects help to combat climate change and remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

We plant only native or naturalised bamboo species on lands that have not had forest cover for at least the past ten years, and this has numerous benefits to nature and improves the livelihoods of local communities.

We provide thousands of job opportunities for men and women. Our first 10,000 hectare project alone will improve the livelihoods of 110 community groups, affecting nearly 30,000 households.

We contribute to Uganda's goal of restoring 2.5 million ha and to Kenya's goal of restoring 5.1 million ha by 2030 under the Bonn Challenge and help to achieve NDC targets to absorb 18.6 million tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

The Sustainable Development Goals and ESG guide all our projects, and we are conserving biodiversity during the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration.

We use advanced technologies which include, in addition, real-time satellite data to monitor and model carbon removal, allowing us to generate credits that meet the highest standards of accuracy and sustainability.
